NASA INSIGHT 2018 Launch at Chadron Public Library

WHAT: Don’t miss a fascinating planetary geology event! Chadron Public Library will be celebrating the upcoming Insight Mission to Mars launch. Dr. Mike Leite, Geosciences professor at Chadron State College, will talk about upcoming Mars missions and how student research is contributing to NASA planetary science and exploration. There will be some fun hands on activities including making edible models of planets and examining rocks similar to ones scientists expect to find on Mars. All ages are welcome, and space is limited.

WHEN: The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. (with extra time for questions) on April 24, 2018

WHERE: Chadron Public Library (downstairs)

WHY: Chadron Public Library is one of 75 public libraries selected to be part of the NASA@ My Library initiative to engage public audiences nationwide in informal and lifelong learning with the excitement of NASA exploration and discovery. As a NASA@ My Library Partner, Chadron Public Library is offering free programs and activities for various age groups that explore NASA science and technology. The programs will be held between May 2017 and October 2018. More information about upcoming events will be available at and on the library’s Facebook page.
